Why LightReel?
Your Film Deserves More Than a Screening.
LightReel Film Festival brings filmmakers and audiences together in Washington, DC for a festival experience built around discovery, conversation and connection.
We believe the best film festivals don't simply show movies. They create space for filmmakers to share their work, engage with audiences and become part of a community that extends beyond the screen.
LightReel Discovery
Skip the Pitch. Make the Movie.
LightReel is expanding its commitment to independent filmmakers with LightReel Discovery, a new initiative created in partnership with Original Flix.
Launching October 19, LightReel Discovery will select two filmmakers and provide the production support and professional crews needed to transform their original short narrative scripts from page to screen.
Two Filmmakers. Two Films. Two Nights
One film will premiere before the Opening Night Film of LightReel 8. The second will premiere before our Closing Night Film.
We're not simply looking for great independent films.
We're helping make them.
